Academic Visit to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia (TTPM)

23 September 2026 –The Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) Student Consumer Movement (GPS), in collaboration with students from the Bachelor of Law Enforcement, organized an academic visit to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia (TTPM) at the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Office.

The Universiti Geomatika Malaysia delegation, comprising 40 students, received a warm welcome and briefing from Mr Muhammad Amal bin Abu Bakar, Head of the Consumerism Section.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to the functions, roles and jurisdiction of TTPM, particularly in handling consumer claims and consumer dispute resolution mechanisms. This exposure was valuable in helping students connect the academic knowledge gained in the classroom with real-world practices in law enforcement and consumer protection.

In addition to enhancing their knowledge and experience, the programme also served as a platform to raise students’ awareness of consumer rights, traders’ responsibilities, and the importance of compliance with consumer-related laws.

Universiti Geomatika Malaysia extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, particularly Mr Muhammad Amal bin Abu Bakar, for the warm reception, knowledge sharing and cooperation extended to the UGM delegation.

It is hoped that this visit will further strengthen students’ understanding and competencies in Law Enforcement and Consumerism, while contributing to the development of knowledgeable, skilled and socially aware graduates who understand and value the rights and interests of the community.
