19-21 August 2026 – A three-day immersive learning journey organized by the School of Architecture (SOAR), University of Geomatika Malaysia, in collaboration with Geomatika TVET College Kuala Lumpur (GTEC KL).
Throughout the visit, students gained valuable hands-on experience by conducting site measurements and contextual studies around Teluk Batik and Lumut for their architectural studio projects.
The journey also included:
* An educational visit to Majlis Perbandaran Manjung
* Exploration of historical and cultural sites on Pangkor Island
* A visit to a traditional Rumah Kutai in Bota, managed by UiTM Seri Iskandar
* An architectural tour of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and its iconic facilities
Through fieldwork, measured drawings, sketching, observation, and photography, students developed a deeper understanding of Perak’s architectural language, cultural heritage, local identity, and community context.
A truly meaningful journey where architectural education, culture, community, and identity came together beyond the studio.
