Bachelor of Science Hons Geographic Information System & Application Development | Geomatika

Geographic Information System (GIS) is an information technology field practice that acquires, manages, interprets, integrates displays, analyzes, or otherwise uses data focusing on the geographic, temporal, and spatial context. Application of Geographic Information System (GIS) in Malaysia is on the increasing trend especially in the environmental management field, urban planning, logging, health application matters and petroleum. Geographic Information System (GIS) allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationship, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts.

This course will allow the student to answer questions and solve problems by looking at the data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared. Geographic Information System (GIS) technology can be integrated into any enterprise information system framework.
