GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR 16th
CONVOCATION UNIVERSITY OF GEOMATIKA MALAYSIA

Please be informed of the matters related to the convocation ceremony as follows:

ETHICS AND SOP’S DURING CONVOCATION CEREMONY
  • Obey and adhere to all instructions given by the Academic Convocation Committees.
  • Stay alert and walk according to the stage (when instructed).
  • Impolite gesture or actions are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
  • Ensure that all graduates and attendees stay stationed at their designated seating until an official announcement was made to leave the convocation hall.

 

Payment for Convocation Ceremony
  • All graduates are compulsory to make full payment with the amount of RM 600 using one of the below method:
    1. Direct payment to Bank Account Geomatika Edugroup Sdn Bhd (Account No.: 8600180382) CIMB; or
    2. Buy a bank draft or money order under Geomatika Edugroup Sdn Bhd
    3. Pay by cash at Finance Counter, University of Geomatika Malaysia
  • Students are required to confirm prior attendance by making a pre-payment of RM 100.00 before 14 February 2024. The balance must be paid according to the payment due date, as shown below.

Collection of Robe
  • Deposit RM 100.00 needs to be paid upon collection of robes. The returning of the Graduation Robe will be refund RM100 during returning after the Convocation Ceremony..

* Students are not allowed to collect robe if no copy of proof is submitted

  • Robe can be collected on 14 February 2024 (Wednesday), from 9.00am to 4.00pm at Dewan Indasari, Level 3 Elevator 2, University of Geomatika Malaysia.
  • Student may have represented by others in the collection of robe using the form provided. The form must be accompanied by a representative with a copy of the representative’s and graduate’s Identity Card and a cash deposit (required).

 

 Returning of Robe
  • Robe should be returned after the convocation ceremony end on 15 February 2024.
  • Failure to return the robe causes scrolls and transcripts to be detained by the Examinations Unit. The delay of returning a robe on a designated date will result in the deposit will not be returned.
  • Any damage or loss will be charged RM 400.00/robe.
  • Late robe returning will be considered as rental and will be charged RM 120.00/day

 

Invitation
  • Each graduand will receive one (1) invitation card for three (3) guests including student and the University management shall not be held responsible on the loss of the provided invitation card. Lost invitation card will not be replaced.
  • Three (3) names of the attending guests should be written on the card and handed over to the officer on duty prior to entering the hall. Secretariat/Officer on Duty has the rights to restrict any guest from entering the hall if he/she does not comply to the provided dress code below or upon ceremony’s safety factor.

 

Prohibition of Bringing Baby / Child Entrance into the Convocation Hall
  • Invitees are not allowed to bring in babies or children under the age of 12 into the hall, as it will disrupt the flow of the event.

 

Graduate Clothing Rules

IMPORTANT: Graduates who do not wear proper clothing are not allowed to join the Convocation Ceremony. All graduates are not allowed to leave the hall until the Convocation Ceremony is completed.

 

Male1)     Wearing a robe provided by UGM.

2)     National attire (e.g; Malay shirt and black songkok (plain) or long sleeve shirt or dark blazer (covered) and tie-colored (for those who wear shirts).

3)     Short hair and tidy. Not allowed to color the hair.

Female1)     Wearing a robe provided by UGM.

2)     National attire and / or black scarf and dark shoe covers.

3)     Prohibited in wearing sheer, rare, tight or revealing clothing.

4)     Not allowed to color the hair.

Parent/Guardian/InviteesMale : National Attire / Batik Shirt / Long-sleeve Shirt with blazer

Female : Formal dress appropriate to the occasion

 

Scroll & Transcript Collection
  • Scroll and Transcript can be collected starting 25 February 2024 onwards during working hours (Monday – Friday) at Student Stop Centre (SSC).

 

Reply Slip
  • Please complete the reply form in Appendix A with payment slip RM 600.00 together with proof of payment of outstanding fees and send/fax it to UGM latest by 30 January 2024 (Attn: Puan Nor Marlina)

GEOMATIKA Alumni Survey – CONVOCATION 2024

GEOMATIKA is currently conducting a survey of alumni. As part of the UGM’s efforts to improve the quality of education provided to its students, the university is conducting its own graduate tracer study (alumni) for convocation 2024.

The objectives of the UGM Graduate/ Alumni Tracer Study are to gauge the extent to which the UGM qualification has contributed to the career development of its graduates and alumni.

INVITATION

  • Each graduand will receive one (1) invitation card for three (3) guests including student and the University management shall not be held responsible on the loss of the provided invitation card. Lost invitation card will not be replaced.

  • Batik, lounge suit, formal/ official attire that is appropriate (Covered shoes Note: T-shirts, jeans, sport shoes, slippers/shoes with bright colors are strictly not allowed).

Ladies

  •  Batik, lounge suit, formal/ official and decent attire that is appropriate
  • Covered shoes Note: Above knee length skirts/pants, T-shirts, jeans, sport shoes, slippers/shoes/sandals with bright colours are strictly prohibited.

Children below 12 years old are not allowed to enter the hall and graduates are not allowed to leave the hall before the ceremony officially ends.

ETIQUETTES

To ensure the ceremony is conducted with dignity, honor and solemnest, we would appreciate if you could give your full cooperation to strictly observe the rules and etiquette listed below.

  1. Graduates and guests/parents are advised to wear appropriately in accordance to the function
  2. Graduates and guests/parents are NOT to leave the hall or move about during the ceremony
  3. Graduates and guests/parents are advised to have their breakfast/meals before entering the hall
  4. Graduates and guests/parents are advised to use the restroom before the ceremony begins to minimize disruption during the ceremony.
  5. Only officially appointed photographers are allowed to take photographs or any form of audio-visual recording.

Parking

Parking at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

Entrances

The Main Entrance is on Jalan Pinang opposite the UOA Building. The West Entrance is opposite the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Ballroom entrance. The Park Entrance is in the centre of the building and accessed on foot through the KLCC Park.

Drop Off Point

Approach the Centre along Jalan Pinang and turn left into the Main Entrance (second turn after the Mandarin Oriental Hotel) to drop off guests.

Car Parks

West car park entrance

Take the first left after the traffic light near Mandarin Oriental Hotel from Jalan Pinang. Proceed up the road to the underground access to the car park below the Centre.

East car park entrance

Take the first left after the Main Entrance to Persiaran KLCC from Jalan Pinang. Turn left at the next junction into the underground car park access. Proceed to Level P1 as access to the Concourse level is for deliveries only.

Parking around Kuala Lumpur City Centre

Suria KLCC

With multiple access and ingress from and to JalanAmpang, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Pinang, Jalan Tun Razak and from the Ampang – Kuala Lumpur elevated highway, this parking facility has about 5,000 bays.

For closest access to the Centre, park in the KLCC Suria car park and exit to the Concourse level Centre Court. Make your way past Cold Storage to the Guardian Pharmacy where there is an air-conditioned pedestrian walkway (open from 6am – 11pm daily) through to the Centre. Take the elevator to the Ground Floor where you can access the Centre through the West Entrance.
