Student’s Rules and Regulations for Graduation

UGM 17th Convocation Ceremony

Venue: World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur

Date: 19th June 2024 (Thursday)

Time: 7:00am (Students must arrive before 6:30am)

Graduands who are late will not be allowed to participate.

Payment:

  • Convocation fee includes robe set, free 1 stage photo & 1 group photo, and 2 free adult guests.
  • RM100 advance payment required for robe collection (refundable upon return).
  • Total Convocation Fee + Robe Set: RM700 (conditions apply).
  • Additional Guest: RM100/person (Early Bird: RM75/person if paid before 28th March 2025).

Collection:

Date: 18th June 2025 | Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm

RM100 deposit required (refundable) upon collection.

Return:

Date: 19th June 2025 | Time: 2:30pm – 5:00pm

RM100 deposit refunded upon return.

Late Penalty:

  • After 20th June 2025: RM100 penalty (non-refundable).
  • Additional RM50 per day for late return.

Graduands are required to download and complete the Graduate Tracer Study Survey (SKPG).

Proof of SKPG completion must be submitted when collecting the graduation robe set.

Graduands need to print out the Returning & Receiving Form and proof of SKPG completion.

These documents must be submitted when collecting the Graduation Robe Set.

Ladies:

  • Baju kurung (modern/traditional), national attire, formal attire.
  • Long skirts and blouses with long sleeves.
  • Dark-colored, covered shoes.
  • Light-colored hijabs to match the blue-colored hood.
  • Not allowed: Short skirts, bright-colored shoes, open-toe or sports shoes.

Men:

  • Collared shirts with long sleeves, slacks, dark-colored attire (with or without tie).
  • Dark-colored lounge suit, black Baju Melayu with sampin.
  • Formal black shoes with dark socks.
  • Not allowed: T-shirts, jeans, slippers, bright-colored shoes.

Graduands who do not follow the dress code will be denied entry.

Each graduand will receive two (2) wristbands for two guests.

The university is not responsible for lost wristbands.

Guest Dress Code:

  • Gents: Batik, lounge suit, formal attire, covered shoes. No T-shirts, jeans, slippers.
  • Ladies: Batik, lounge suit, formal attire, covered shoes. No above-knee skirts, jeans, slippers.

Children below 7 years old and pets are not allowed in the hall.

GUESTS’ DRESS CODE

GENTS
• Batik, lounge suit, formal/ official attire that is appropriate
• Covered shoes

Note: T-shirts, jeans, sport shoes, slippers/shoes with bright colors are strictly not allowed.

LADIES
• Batik, lounge suit, formal/ official and decent attire that is appropriate
• Covered shoes

Note: Above knee length skirts/pants, T-shirts, jeans,sport
shoes, slippers/shoes/sandals with bright colours are strictly prohibited.
Children below 7 years old and pets are not allowed to enter the hall and graduands are not allowed to leave the hall before the ceremony officially ends.

Graduands are not allowed to take any photos or ask other parties to do so during the convocation ceremony in the hall. All photos during the convocation ceremony will be handled by the official photographer/ videographers appointed by the University.
