Diploma in Interior Design | Geomatika

Interior Design is an in-depth course that covers the fundamentals of interior design and decoration. An interior design consultant must have the skill and ability to select the appropriate colour and style designs to create interior schemes that are visually attractive and coherent. Students will be exposed to the knowledge and skills required in planning interior layouts, designing soft-furnishings and lighting schemes, colours, materials, media, shape, form, and learn how to communicate their ideas professionally to both clients and contractors. They will also be taught how to exploit spaces inside a building such as residential, offices, shops, salons, and others. Project work and assignment, supported by lecturers, independent study, site visit and special events are all activities that the students will be able to experience throughout the course. Students will use these and other tools to design a specific space while considering the requirements of the project.

Diploma in Interior Design will develop the student’s ability to communicate ideas through a wide range of media and provide them with the skills required to work with a variety of clients with various needs and demands.

Local Admission


i. Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional (SPMV) with a minimum of 3 credits; OR
ii. Pass O-Level with a minimum of grade C in 3 subjects; OR
iii. Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of grade B in 3 subjects; OR
iv. Pass STPM or an equivalent qualification with a minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any subject; OR
v. Pass STAM with a minimum rank of Maqbul; OR
vi. Pass a Certificate (MQF Level 3) or any equivalent qualification in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
vii. Pass SKM Level 3 (MQF Level 3) in related fields with a minimum of one semester Bridging Program conducted concurrently by UGM
viii. Pass Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Access (APEL A – T4)

International Admission


The English Language Entry Requirement for International Student at University of GEOMATIKA Malaysia are as follows:

Achieve minimum Band 3 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR any English competency test aligned with Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)(Mid B1).

** For students who do not have the above English Qualification, they must undergo Geomatika’s English Program
