Pharmacology is the branch of medical science concerned with the study of drug action in the living system, as well as their source, structural activity, interaction, mechanism and toxicology of drugs. Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics are the two broad area of pharmacology. Pharmacokinetics deal with absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of drugs and the pharmacodynamics deal with the receptor and non-receptor level of drug action in the living system.
