The First International Conference on Emerging Technology & Innovative Applications (ICETiA 2019) was held at MaGIC, Cyberjaya, Malaysia on 21st & 22nd of October 2019. This conference hosted by Centre of Emerging Technology & Innovative Applications (CETIA) under Faculty of Computing & Innovative Technology (FaCIT). The conference was attended by 200 participants consist of students, government agencies, institute of higher learning and NGO or association.
Our Guest of Honour, YBhg Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Salleh Jaafar, Deputy Director of Higher Education Malaysia, officiating ICETIA 2019 with an inspirational speech. He said, this conference is the inaugural conference on Emerging Technology & Innovative Applications jointly organized by the National Association of Bumiputra Institutions of Malaysia (PKIBM) and Geomatika University College (GUC) and hoping, via ICETiA 2019, it will be able to encourage Bumiputra IPTS the need to indulge in this new era in order to survive and be competitive as the fore front in advocating education to the new millennial.
En Amir Hamzah Md Isa, the President of (PKIBM), also shared his welcoming remarks of endorsements on ICETiA 2019 to all participants. He believed via this conference academics and practitioners are able to discuss issues on Emerging Technologies and innovative applications to escalate employability.
ICETiA 2019 be presented by Prof. Sr. Dr. Mohaizi Mohamad. ASDK. FRISM, President of GUC. He stated that, with the tagline of ‘Enhancing Human Capital Development for IR4.0’, this conference certainly fulfil the thirst of those who are still uncertain of what is IR4.0 and the benefits to the new millennial in this current era.
CETiA also invited many speakers from various companies such as Tuan Mazmalek Mohamad (General Director of Personal Data Protection Department, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia), Professor Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Mujahid Ahmad Zaidi (Assistant Vice Chancellor of UPNM), Associate Professor Dr. Hanafiah Yussof (Director – Center of Humanoid Robots and Bio-Sensing, UiTM), Dr. Mazlan Abbas (CEO of FAVORIOT Sdn Bhd), Mr. Effendy Zulkifly (CEO of Blockchain IoT Academy Asia Sdn Bhd), Dr. Prakash Christiansen (CEO of VulsanX Cyber Security), Mr. Robin Gofur (CEO of Datacrats Sdn Bhd), Mr. Hadzry Rajab (Huawei Malaysia), Dr. Ghassan Saleh Hussein (Director of CETiA) and Mr. Chng Chern Wei from New Era University College.
ICETiA 2019 prepared exhibition room for exhibitors to feature their technologies. The exhibitors were from Here Technologies, IMAGO Technologies Limited, Scientific & Technical Products Sgn Bhd, RF Printing Hub Design Sdn Bhd, RD – Palmer Technology (M) Sdn Bhd, North Borneo University College, Geomatika Technology Sdn Bhd and others.
