The Foundation in Science program is specifically designed to develop student with a strong foundation and skills suited for a changing world of science and medical. This program provides students with practical training, allowing them to acquire the relevant skills needed in various fields of science. Students will also acquire a sound principle of science, gain basic knowledge in applied aspect of science and medical, and enhance their communication and interpersonal skills, all of which are valuable to meet the needs of employers. Students will be exposed with science process skills to assist them in making critical and analytical decisions in the classroom and laboratories.

The subjects in this course range from Basic Application in Computer, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and others. Teaching staff will equip students with life-long learning attitude, so they can continue to learn about new technology that is related to their field of study.

Local Admission

For students who will further studies in Medical, Dental and Pharmacy:

SPM / SPMV / O – Level

  • Pass with at least five (5) Credits and achieve grade B4 in Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or other technical subject or equivalent; AND
  • Pass Malay language and English.

For students who will further studies in First Degree Programs (other than Medical, Dental and Pharmacy):

SPM / SPMV / O – Level

  • Pass with at least five (5) Credits including Mathematics and two (2) other Science subjects or equivalent; AND
  • Pass Malay language and English

In addition to the required academic qualifications, student will have to demonstrate a level of proficiency in the English language as part of the entrance selection criteria.

International Admission

The English Language Entry Requirement for International Student at GEOMATIKA University College are as follows:

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – Band 5.5
TOEFL: Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) – Score 450

** For students who do not have the above English Qualification, they must undergo Geomatika College International’s English Program

The Foundation in Science (FIS) programme provides the necessary preparation for admission into undergraduate programmes in GUC and other Universities. Those who successfully complete this programme can go on to pursue the following courses at GUC:

  • BSc (Hons) Biotechnology (3.5 Years)
  • BSc (Hons) Pharmacology (3.5 Years)
  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science (3 Years)
  • BSc (Hons) Geomatic & Land Surveying (4 Years)
  • BSc (Hons) Geographic Information System & Application Development (3.5 Years)

FIS students will be given a conditional offer into one of GUC’s undergraduate programme, subject to meeting the entry requirements.

Moreover, we have a MOU with the Kursk State Medical University (KSMU), Russia. Thus, our FIS students can also choose to pursue their MBBS degree KSMU or any other recognized local/ international tertiary institutions.
