Geomatika Hosts 4th ICOSTELM 2025

Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) successfully hosted the 4th International Conference on Sustainability in Technological, Environmental, Law, Management, Social, and Economic Matters (ICOSTELM 2025) on 8 February 2025. Held at AMES Hotel, Melaka, the event brought together a distinguished lineup of academicians, industry leaders, and researchers to discuss sustainability-driven innovations across multiple disciplines.

The conference was graced by notable figures, including:

  • Prof. Datuk Sr. Dr. Mohaizi Bin Mohamad – Group President of Geomatika Edugroup and Chairman of DMDI Education Bureau
  • Prof. Dr. Mohd Raduwan Bin Idar – Vice Chancellor of Universiti Geomatika Malaysia
  • Prof. Dato Surveyor Dr. Azimuddin Bahari – Vice Chancellor of North Borneo University College
  • Prof. Dr. Tulus Suryanto – President of ASEAN Academic Association
  • Adj. Prof. Dato’ Sabrina Binti Mohd Noor – Director of 4th ICOSTELM 2025

The event commenced with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Tulus Suryanto, emphasizing the need for cross-border academic collaboration to drive sustainability.

Keynote speakers addressed crucial topics, including:

  • Prof. Datuk Sr. Dr. Mohaizi Bin Mohamad – “Strengthening Regional Academic Collaboration for Higher Education”
  • Prof. Dr. Zulkiflie Bin Ibrahim (UTeM) – “Advanced TVET and AI: Game Changers in Graduate Employability and Industrial Leadership”

Panel discussions covered diverse sustainability themes, including:

  1. Environmental Impact: Legal and Managerial Approaches to Sustainable Development Projects – Moderated by Prof. Dr. Raduwan Bin Idar (UGM)
  2. Balancing Economic Growth with Sustainable Preservation – Highlighting SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)
  3. Empowering Cultural Heritage and the Halal Economy for Sustainable Communities – Exploring traditional knowledge’s role in sustainable development

ICOSTELM 2025 facilitated networking among institutions and organizations, fostering future partnerships.
