Professor Dr. K. Saminathan is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as the Cluster Dean at University of Geomatika Malaysia (UGM), Kuala Lumpur. He has a robust background in pharmaceutical sciences and management, holding two PhDs—one in Pharmaceutical Science (Pharmacology) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad, India, and another in Phytochemistry from Open International University for Complementary Medicines in Sri Lanka. With over 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Saminathan has held various academic positions at prestigious institutions in India as well as Malaysia. Since joining UGM (formerly known as Geomatika University College) in August 2013, he has significantly contributed to the institution by designing and authoring the curriculum for the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Pharmacology, securing MQA approval, and launching the university’s first-degree programs in this specialty. He has also developed diploma and master’s programs in pharmacology, all of which are thriving with substantial student enrolment.
Prof. Dr. K. Saminathan has demonstrated a long-term commitment to education with 15 years of teaching experience in Malaysia. He has facilitated around 30 industry and academic Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and research collaborations in enhancing academic partnerships.
