Master of Education Instructional Technology | Geomatika

The introduction of the Master in Education (MEd) program would enable the younger and working knowledge generation to be equipped with educational activities and capabilities to cater to the demands for expertise and professionals in the market. The demand for skilled workers and experts in the education world is expected to escalate in the coming years. The Master of Education (MEd) program is designed especially in management skills to develop students’ individual skills necessary for solving educational problems, teaching management, supervision, administration, institutional leadership, community, and meet school system needs and expectations.

The role of research and development in the social studies is important for the perpetuation of human knowledge as well as the development of our nation. Research in educational management, instructional design and motivation has produced many applications to help solve problems in these fields. For Malaysia to attain the status of a developed nation, effective development in research of education and humanities is imperative. The program also provides further education opportunity for UGM Master degree holders to pursue a higher level of the academic program.

Local Admission


A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related fields with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the Senate; OR
A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related fields or equivalent with a CGPA of 2.00-2.49, AND a minimum of five years working experience in the relevant field, AND Pass the evaluation on personal statement demonstrating knowledge, skills, experience, and achievement related to the programme; OR
Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses* and meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (ii)

Note:
*Prerequisite courses:
i. Educational psychology
ii. Curriculum
Pre-requisite courses may be taken at Universiti Geomatika Malaysia or through Micro-Credential, MOOC, Short Course, or CPD platforms such as Coursera, OpenLearning, and others. Candidates must provide evidence and pass a rigorous internal assessment.

International Admission


The English Language Entry Requirement for International Student at University of GEOMATIKA Malaysia are as follows:

Achieve minimum Band 3 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR any English competency test aligned with Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (Mid B1).

** For students who do not have the above English Qualification, they must undergo Geomatika’s English Program
