The Master of Education (Early Childhood Education) is an advanced postgraduate programme designed for professionals seeking deeper expertise, leadership, and research competence in the early childhood sector. Offered through flexible Open and Distance Learning (ODL), it supports heutagogical, self-directed learning suitable for working educators and administrators. The curriculum integrates advanced theories, research-informed practices, curriculum design, educational assessment, leadership and management, behaviour psychology, and the use of technology in early childhood settings. It is closely aligned with the Malaysian Early Childhood Education Framework and the forthcoming KPM Preschool Curriculum 2026. This programme strengthens professional mastery, enhances reflective and evidence-based practice, and prepares graduates to lead quality improvement, influence policy direction, and contribute innovative solutions across diverse early childhood environments.

Local Admission
i. A Bachelorās Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Early Childhood Eeducation with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent; OR
ii. A Bachelorās Degree (Level 6, MQF) in the relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate AND three (3) years of working experience* in early childhood fields; OR
iii. A Bachelorās Degree (Level 6, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate AND a Diploma in ECE OR four (4) years of working experience* in early childhood fields; OR
iv. A Bachelorās Degree (Level 6, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate, can be accepted subject to a minimum of FIVE years of working experience* in early childhood fields and has passed pre-requisite courses**.
Notes
*Experience can be cumulative experience even before acquiring the required qualification for a particular level of study. However, the experience must be relevant to the level of study, as well as the content of the study.
