Master of Science (Geographical Information Science) – Geographic Information provides powerful solutions to real world problems. Applications using GIS technologies are highly in demand especially in environment and geohazard management, urban planning, natural resources management and conservation, health application matters, as well as in oil and gas industries. Moreover, GIS allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationship, patterns and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports and charts. GIS technologies can be integrated into any enterprise information system framework to become one whole complete system.
The Master of Science in Geographical Information Science by coursework consist of 12 core courses and 2 electives courses. To graduate, students must complete a total of 40 credits. Students are assessed through assignments, presentations, final examination, and GIS projects application development.
Our program is also offered in dual mode with MSc GIS from University of Salzburg, Austria under UNIGIS. UNIGIS is a worldwide network of universities co-operating since 1992 in the design, development, and delivery of distance learning in GIS area. However, the dual program is option.
