The Rakan Bumi Plogging programme at Taman Eko Rimba Kanching was successfully organised by the Rakan Muda Secretariat of University of Geomatika Malaysia (UGM), bringing together students and youth to take direct action for the environment.
This initiative focused on creating awareness around environmental preservation by combining physical activity with a purposeāpicking up litter while walking or jogging, also known as āplogging.ā Through this hands-on effort, participants were encouraged to reflect on their environmental responsibility and understand the importance of protecting nature.
The positive response from the participants reflects the increasing awareness among youth, and it is a testament to the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) in championing environmental causes. Events like these do more than just clean up parksāthey build a community of young people who are informed, active, and committed to sustainable living.
We hope this programme will continue in the future, growing into a regular movement that inspires even more youth to step up for the planet.
