University of Geomatika Malaysia Strengthens Global Partnerships and Academic Exchange Aligned with SDG 17

In a significant move towards fostering international collaboration, University of Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several prestigious Indonesian higher institutions today. This partnership marks a critical step in strengthening academic ties and promoting resource-sharing initiatives, which are central to achieving SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

The institutions involved in this MoU include:

  • Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Kediri
  • Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Diniyyah Lampung (INSTIDLA)
  • FEB Universitas Trunojoyo
  • FEB Universitas Sebelas April Sumedang
  • UIN Profesor Kiai Haji Saifuddin Zuhri (UIN SAIZU) Purwokerto
  • Universitas Mitra Indonesia (UMITRA)

The agreement, signed by Prof Emeritus Dato’ Ar Dr. Elias Bin Salleh, Vice Chancellor of UGM, and Prof Datuk Mazrin, Deputy President II of UGM, along with key representatives from the Indonesian institutions, is a testament to UGM’s commitment to fostering educational partnerships that transcend borders.

UGM Strengthens Global MOU Aligned with SDG 17 | Geomatika

Alongside the MoU signing, the ‘Inbound Mobility Engagement Program with ASEAN Academic Associations’ was also held at the University of Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) today, with participation from the respective Indonesian delegates. This knowledgeable program serves as a pivotal event, bringing together thought leaders, education experts, and academics from diverse backgrounds with UGM to broaden horizons and gain valuable global perspectives.

The program began with a powerful opening speech by Prof. Datuk Sr. Dr. Mohaizi bin Mohamad, Group President of the University of Geomatika Malaysia (UGM), who addressed the theme ‘VUCA Management Towards Specialize Based – Industry University.’ His speech set the tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of strategic management in the face of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA) and highlighting the role of specialized industry-university collaboration in driving innovation and growth.

This collaboration will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, research, and best practices, contributing to the global effort of building strong, inclusive, and sustainable educational systems. By aligning with SDG 17, UGM is not only expanding its academic reach but also playing a vital role in enhancing the quality of education on a global scale.
