On Monday, 9 September 2024, Universiti Geomatika Malaysia Melaka (UGMM) and Kolej DMDI Melaka welcomed a special visit from the delegation of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Tarbiyah (ST) Al Washliyah Kota Binjai, Medan, Indonesia. The visit included five lecturers and seven students, led by Dr. Huzaifah, as part of an effort to strengthen educational ties between the two Nusantara nations.
This visit was part of an initiative to strengthen relations and enhance educational cooperation, particularly through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU aims to provide a pathway for ST Tarbiyah Kota Binjai students to pursue higher education at UGMM and Kolej DMDI Melaka. This effort aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which aims to ensure quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Through this collaboration, UGMM continues to play an essential role in providing inclusive and high-quality education opportunities for the Nusantara community, supporting global efforts to expand access to higher education. This is also in line with UGMM’s commitment to building strong international education networks, particularly with educational institutions in Indonesia.
“Through this visit, we hope to build stronger relationships and open doors for students from ST Al Washliyah to develop their potential at the international level,” said Dr. Huzaifah, who led the delegation.
This collaboration is expected to create more opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, as well as broader knowledge and experience sharing, contributing to the advancement of education in the region. May this partnership serve as a catalyst for more initiatives that will benefit both nations.
