University of Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) successfully organized the Geo Fit Walk Run 2025 in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Car-Free Morning program. The event brought together students, staff, and members of the public in an energetic celebration of health, unity, and community spirit.
Held in conjunction with Malaysiaās National Sports Month this October, the program aligns with SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being, encouraging participants to embrace active lifestyles while enjoying the scenic view of Kuala Lumpurās city center.
The highlight of the morning was the presence of Kuala Lumpur Mayor, YBhg. Datoā Seri Dr. Maimunah Mohd Sharif, who joined the participants and expressed support for such initiatives that encourage both wellness and togetherness.
Also present at the event were Prof. Datuk Sr. Dr. Mohaizi Mohamad, President of UGM. Assoc. Prof. Nazirah Mohaizi, Vice President 1 of UGM, and Assoc. Prof. Datuk Mazrin Rohizaq Bin Che Rose, Group Deputy President 2 of UGM. Their presence further highlighted the universityās commitment to fostering unity and healthy living among the UGM family.
The main objective of Geo Fit Walk Run 2025 was not only to promote fitness but also to gather all members of the #WeAreGeomatika community in one place. Participants enjoyed the car-free streets of Kuala Lumpur while building stronger bonds of unity and belonging between students, staff, and the wider community.
The event ended with positive energy, proving that fitness activities can go beyond exercise, they can inspire togetherness, well-being, and a sense of shared identity.
