The Korea-Malaysia Youth Exchange Programme 2025 was successfully held at Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) on 1 October 2025. The half-day event, which ran from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm, brought together youth delegates from Malaysia and Korea for a meaningful cultural and academic exchange.
The programme opened with registration and a warm welcome breakfast, setting the tone for a day of sharing, learning, and networking. UGM students presented two musical performances ā My Heart Will Go On and the Malay classic Umpan Jinak di Air Tenang ā to mark the official start of the event.
UGM was honored to welcome Puan Wan Azira binti Abdul Aziz, Head of the Youth Integration and Internationalisation Unit, Ministry of Youth and Sports, who delivered the welcoming remarks. She emphasized the role of youth in building stronger international understanding and cooperation.
UGM was honored to have Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norazean Abdul Malik, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, deliver the opening address. She highlighted the importance of cultural collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the role of young people in fostering stronger international partnerships.
The highlight of the programme was two engaging panel discussions:
Panel I: AI in Audio Post Production by Mr. Muhammad Faisal Ghazali
Panel II: AI in Music Composition by Mdm Khairunnisa binti Datoā Hj Abu Samah
Both speakers shared insights on how artificial intelligence is reshaping the music and creative industries, sparking thoughtful discussions among the participants.
A lively Q&A session followed, giving students and delegates the chance to exchange ideas and perspectives. The event concluded with a presentation of tokens of appreciation to the guest speakers, a group photo session, and a networking lunch where participants were encouraged to connect across borders and cultures.
The Korea-Malaysia Youth Exchange Programme 2025 served as a platform for strengthening ties between Malaysian and Korean youth, encouraging collaboration, creativity, and cultural understanding. UGM remains committed to providing opportunities for students to engage in international experiences that align with the universityās vision of producing globally minded graduates.
